EasyCore Steel – Transformer Cores

Transformer Core Production Process

The production of transformer cores is a highly specialized process that requires careful attention to detail at each stage, from the initial project design to final delivery. The process is tailored to meet the specific requirements of the customer’s design, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability of the transformer. The key steps in the transformer core production process are as follows:

Custom Project Design Based on Customer Drawing

The process begins with the receipt of the customer’s specific design or drawing. Our engineering team thoroughly reviews the provided specifications, ensuring that the design meets the necessary technical, operational, and regulatory requirements. A detailed project plan is then created, outlining the entire production process, from material selection to final testing. This step ensures that all aspects of the transformer core align with the customer’s expectations.

Selection of the Appropriate Steel

Based on the design specifications, the appropriate grade of electrical steel is selected for the core construction. The choice of material is crucial, as it affects the core’s efficiency, magnetic properties, and overall performance. We work with premium-grade electrical steels, including those with grain-oriented or non-grain-oriented properties, depending on the transformer’s application and the customer’s specific needs. The steel sheets are carefully selected to ensure optimal magnetic permeability and low core losses.

Manufacturing of the Transformer Core

The selected steel sheets are processed to form the transformer core. The process typically involves the cutting of the steel sheets into precise shapes and sizes, followed by stacking and lamination. The core is assembled in layers to minimize energy losses and ensure effective magnetic flux. Special attention is given to the orientation of the grain structure in grain-oriented steels, which is critical for reducing core losses. The production is carried out using advanced machinery and tools that guarantee the precise dimensions and alignment of the core.

Quality Control and Inspection

Throughout the manufacturing process, stringent quality control measures are implemented. Each transformer core undergoes multiple stages of inspection to verify that it meets the customer’s specifications and the highest industry standards. This includes visual inspection, dimensional checks, and verification of material properties. Any inconsistencies or deviations from the project specifications are identified and corrected promptly. Our commitment to quality ensures that every core is produced to exacting standards.

Loss Measurement and Testing

Once the core is assembled, it undergoes detailed testing to measure the core’s electrical losses, including both no-load losses and magnetizing current. These measurements are critical in evaluating the core’s performance in real-world conditions. We use advanced testing equipment to measure these losses accurately and ensure they fall within the required parameters. The results are compared against the project’s specifications to guarantee that the transformer core will operate efficiently and reliably when integrated into the final transformer unit.

Packaging and Final Shipment

After passing all inspections and tests, the transformer core is carefully packaged to prevent damage during transportation. We use high-quality protective materials to safeguard the core against mechanical impact, moisture, and environmental factors. The core is securely packed and labeled with all relevant shipment information. It is then dispatched to the customer’s designated location, ensuring timely delivery for assembly into the final transformer.
